Fifth Grade Art Lesson 16
Using Our Hands to Create a Design, Part 2 Completing Our Design
Objective:
The students will complete the colorful display of their hand designs.
Materials:
Last lesson's work, markers
Procedure:
Before you begin working your background of your hand design, make sure you have all shapes colored in. If you have colored an entire hand one color, including where other hand shapes have overlapped, go back and change the color of the overlapping section. Next consider your background. Before deciding how to complete the background, look at the colors you have already used. If you have used all primary and secondary colors, black may be a good choice for your background. However, if you have used mostly warm or mostly cool colors, choose contrasting colors to complete your work. Do not hurry; do not scribble with your markers. Finish your work well.
Conclusion:
Today's project has been fairly simple, although it requires concentrated effort. Typically fifth graders work out wonderful designs that are pleasing to look at. Enjoy looking at each student's work. Be sure to mount their work and display for everyone to enjoy.
